Why Diversity matters: Enabling diversity within any organization is an ongoing and proactive effort that will help both business and culture to flourish. The DNB approach is that diversity is business critical and a key ingredient for better decision-making. The business case for diversity is stronger than ever but progress in the financial industry is generally too slow. This workshop is designed to spark curiosity and share thoughts on the game changing benefits of and inclusion in the workplace.

Join Anna Skoglund and WFD to hear about her:

Anna is responsible for covering private equity clients in the United Kingdom for the Financial and Strategic Investors Group (FSIG) within the Investment Banking Division (IBD). She is a managing director ally of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Network. Anna is also an investment champion for Launch With GS, the firm's first for-profit investing initiative with a gender lens. Anna joined Goldman Sachs in 1996 as a financial analyst in the Credit Department in London. She moved to the Communication, Media and Technology Group in IBD in 1998, working on equity, debt and mergers and acquisitions transactions for telecommunications and media clients throughout Europe. In 2002, Anna transferred to the Consumer Retail Group to cover a number of consumer and retail sectors and spent time in the Consumer Retail Group in New York in 2008. She moved to FSIG in 2012. She was named managing director in 2007 and partner in 2018.

Nina Siemiatkowski is the Founder and CEO of Milkywire. A tech platform helping companies take environmental action to solve the climate, pollution and biodiversity crisis, while also involving employees and customers. Nina has a business degree from Stockholm School of Economics /Wharton and held the position as head of marketing at a Swedish top 100 company at age 29. She resigned to pursue a photography career creating the acclaimed project, Book of Leon, documenting the lives of a pride of lions in Kenya from 2012 to 2016. Nina is involved in global efforts to solve the biodiversity and climate crisis and has served as a board member and advisor for several leading nonprofits such as Human Rights Watch, Rewilding Europe and Panthera.

Josefine Karlsson - Private Equity at KKR 

Josefine joined KKR in April 2022 as a member of the European private equity team, based in Stockholm. Prior to joining KKR, she worked at Investor AB with their non-listed portfolio of companies at Patricia Industries where she also did a secondment as an M&A Manager. Moreover, Josefine has worked at J.P. Morgan in London as an Investment Banking Analyst, at Carnegie Investment Bank and at PWC. Prior to her economics studies at Stockholm University and Uppsala University, she ran her own company JKH Stable which consisted of training and competition of horses as well as the sales and agency of horses.

 

About the event:

Conversation with Josefine Karlsson where students have the opportunity to submit various topics/questions in advance that will be discussed during the session. The audience will have the opportunity to gain insights into Josefine’s background and career journey from running her own horse company to joining the European Private Equity team at KKR. She will share her view on the Financial industry through the lens of own personal experiences including career advice Josefine wished she had known when starting her career, challenges and how to handle them, the importance of balance, diversity and inclusion and much more.
